  3. It is important to set life goals, long, and short term goals. If I want to vacation to Grand Canyon by looking up the cost of everything, I know how much I could need, and would start putting the money away. If I wanted a new car same thing research and save. At the end when sitting on the donkey going down to bottom of the canyon I can smile and be proud that my effort and hard work was worth it.

    1. Nancy, that was beautiful. I was struggling with writing my goals because I didn't know if it was even realistic based on my income. But researching parts of my goal, allowed me to make targeted goals.

    1. I agree with you Laura, setting goals does provide you with a sense of direction. There's so much to do on a day to day life, that goal setting allows you to focus on what's important to you at that time.

  6. It is important to set life goals in order to focus in on what you want to accomplish. While setting these goals you become more focused on the outcome, prepare yourself, look for what resources you might need, and it leaves you pointing in the direction of your goal.

  7. It is extremely important for me to make short and long term goals, in order to get things accomplished. I consider myself a scattered brain person, with juggling my children, their activities, work, church and ect. When I set goals and write out a plan I am able to prioritize and its more likely for me to complete the tasks.

    1. Writing things down is a great tool to have. But, I don't think you are a scattered brain, no one can remember everything in this chaotic busy world. I have to write everything in my book, if not, nothing gets accomplished.

  8. My apologies if this appears multiple times. I cannot see my original post.

I see setting life goals as knowing you have a destination and planning on reaching there. By setting goals, you will know where you are going and then you can figure out which routes to take and which resources are needed to achieve the goal. Without goals, you would be lost, confused, frustrated and be at the mercy of others among other things. I see it similar to knowing where you are going when you leave the house. When you do know your destination, you will then know what modes of transportation you need: walking, bus, car, biking etc. These modes of transportation are akin to the short term objectives to the long term goal.

  9. Setting goals in life is a priority. It has to be done, it needs to be done and with it life can be all over the place...I would start with small achievable goals then gradually work my way to bigger goals. One step, one goal at a time. It can happen...

  10. It's important to set life goals because without goals, you are not moving with purpose and thus risk not accomplishing what you truly want in life. Establishing goals puts in perspective what you want and establishing action steps help makes solidify what you need to do to achieve your goal

  12. I feel it is important to set life goals whether it be long or short. Setting goals give you something to strive for something to be focused on. Its another way of planning for the future in steps from A to B. I know a lot of time you want things to happen so fast you skip B and try to go straight to Z then cant understand why it failed. setting goals is like a guide.
